Meanwhile, the FERC has approved six modelling, data, and analysis reliability standards submitted for approval by the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), the FERC-designated Electric Reliability Organisation (ERO). The approved reliability standards require certain users, owners, and operators of the bulk-power system to develop consistent methodologies for the calculation of available transfer capability or available flow gate capability.
FERC has directed the ERO to modify MOD reliability standards by replacing some existing standards by the most recent approved versions.
The final rule issued by FERC for the purpose is called: "Mandatory Reliability Standards for the Calculation of Available Transfer Capability, Capacity Benefit Margins, Transmission Reliability Margins, Total Transfer Capability, and Existing Transmission Commitments and Mandatory Reliability Standards for the Bulk-Power System." |
